European Park Association of Lusatia
The European Park Association of Lusatia was established in Brody on 16 November 2010. Initially, it only included the two Pückler parks in Muskau and Branitz as well as the East German Rose Garden Forst (Lausitz) and Brody Castle Park (Pförten).
All of the parks are linked to historical developments that were shaped by important personalities from Lusatia, such as Heinrich Count of Brühl and Hermann Prince of Pückler-Muskau.
A cross-border cultural identity is being created in the region with the aim of having a lasting impact on education, tourism and the economy, and thus contributing both to structural change in Lusatia and to European integration.
Successful further development of the European Park Association of Lusatia was the condition for adding a further five palaces and parks in 2018. Today, the East German Rose Garden Forst (Lausitz) and eight other palaces and parks belong to the association.
The palaces and parks in the Park Association:
- East German Rose Garden Forst (Lausitz)
- Żagań Ducal Palace and Park
- Brody Castle Park (Pförten)
- Altdöbern Castle Park
- Muskau Park
- Park Zatonie
- Branitz Park and Palace
- Kromlau Rhododendron Park
- Neschwitz Baroque Palace and Park
Three centuries of garden history are brought to life during a visit to all of the parks. While the gardens are linked in many ways, each has its own unique character. Beautiful images of these glorious garden landscapes can be found on the park association’s website (www.parkverbund.eu) where you’ll also find practical information on each of the locations.
